The Frankfurt kitchen
1,87 meters large on 3,44 meters long, equal 6,5 square meters: the Frankfurt kitchen is a long and narrow rectangle, it almost looks at a corridor.
Conceived by architect Margarete Schütte Lihotzky in 1926 for housing low-income families in the urban estate of « New Frankfurt », the Frankfurt kitchen is a revolution with its wall fitted storages.
10 000 items were produced, which makes the Frankfurter Kitchen the first « fitted kitchen » industrially produced.
