Fiat 500

Or how to conceive a four-seater car accessible to everyone. In the middle of the economic boom, this “idea” sold nearly four million copies in Italy and abroad. Inheritor of the Fiat 500 Topolino, conceived in 1936 by the same Giacosa, this car shows both the force and the capacity of dialogue existing between a designer and an industrialist in researching the best equation possible for the user.

Dante Giacosa proposes the Fiat 500 called “Topolino in 1936, following the failure of another grand designer of past cars, Antonio Fessia of Lancia. The passing of the rear traction to the one in front was not in the projects of FIAT in this era. In 1957, he presents the Nuova 500, emblem of the post-war Italian industrial renaissance.
